REM Mercantile Co.REM Mercantile Co.

Heirloom wooden furniture and quiet home goods, shaped one piece at a time by a husband and wife at the bench.

A craftsman hand-planing a piece of oak

— Two pairs of hands

We build things meant to outlast us.

REM Mercantile Co. is the small workshop of a husband and wife — a quiet partnership of saws, planes, and second cups of coffee.

Every table, shelf, and board is drawn, joined, and finished by the two of us. No factory floor. No warehouse. Just slow work, raw wood, and the patience to wait for the grain to tell us where to cut.

How it's made

From a quiet sketch
to your home.

I

A conversation

Tell us the room, the wood, the way it should feel. We sketch by hand and talk through every detail.

II

Wood, chosen carefully

We source domestic hardwoods — walnut, oak, cherry, maple — and let the grain decide the cuts.

III

Made at the bench

Joined the slow way, sanded by hand, finished with hardwax oil. Four to ten weeks, depending on the piece.

IV

Delivered to your door

We crate, ship, and follow up — and we'll always be here when it needs a touch-up a decade from now.

Commissions open

Tell us about the piece you've been picturing.

We take on a small number of commissions each season so we can give each one the time it deserves. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll reply personally with a quote.
